In January of 2010, Earthsite launched a new website for Real Goods Solar. Since 1978, Real Goods has led the sustainable living market through sales, education, and installation of solar and other renewable energy products.
Real Goods was purchased by Gaiam, Inc. in 2001, who then opened a solar installation division in 2003. The retail products and solar installation services were housed together under the corporate name Real Goods Solar, Inc. which was spun off from Gaiam as a publically-traded company in 2008. Real Goods Solar, Inc. acquired 4 other solar installation companies within the past sixteen months: Marin Solar, Carlson Solar, Independent Energy Systems and Regrid Power, which are all now under the Real Goods Solar corporate umbrella.
